Silhouette Challenge: Robin's Nest Box Card

Hello there! It's the 22nd and so it's time for me to post my reveal for Silhouette Challenges.

If you are already a follower of SVGCuts online, then you probably have seen these popping up everywhere. Lots of details and pieces but so worth it.

By the way, I rarely give away my box cards. They are made more for decor for my house.

Tip: Invest in a neutral glitter spray. It can really spruce up and change your cards, but more specifically your die cuts.  The nest is sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Bronze. I love how it made the nest look a little more real.

I also happened to take its photo in early morning light. Worked out well, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Happy Birthday

Hello there peeps!! Yep . . . I'm here today with a layout. *Gasp* *Choke*

Have we all recovered yet?

I recently got to spend all weekend with my sister and we made layouts all day on Saturday. Fun times!!!!!!!

On a personal note, this was such a bittersweet birthday for my son. We moved away from Indiana to Texas just 30 days later. He had a great afternoon with his friends but it was clouded by the unfortunate fact that his Daddy was not able to be there.

Don't worry . . . we moved to Texas for a better job for my husband which included being home with his family every evening and weekends. His previous job he travelled . . . it sucked. The end.

My son misses Indiana immensely. He misses his best friends from our old neighborhood and his misses his former karate instructor. We gained so much with our move to Texas, but right now my son still grieves for those favorite people he left behind.

I will have to make a separate pages with those photos.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

I did follow a sketch for this layout. It's on
my pinterest board somewhere.

KBD: A few of my Favorite Things

Hello there! Today I'm here to show you my creation this week for KBD and its blog.

You can find the mouse here.

I found this unique folded card from the Silhouette Online store. The little paper label on the side (with the flower) opens, as well as the label with the mouse on it. That then reveals your special note on the inside.

Card tip: Don't be afraid of a little fussy cutting. (Even as I don't personally like fussy cutting either.) It can be a unique way to showcase your sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Silhouette Online Store: Fancy Folded Card
KBD: mouse
Handmade flower from punches, plus a pearl

Hugs!

Did you know it was National Pig Day on the first on this month? Lots of challenges this month with the pig theme.

This pig is from Treasure Box Designs.

When I originally cut her out, I made her entirely too large for my traditional cards. So I backtracked and made a shaped card with my big piggie.

I'm entering this into the new photo inspiration challenge blog: Sunny Day Crafting.

LGS: Dream Big

Hello and welcome. Today I'm sharing with you my layout interpretation of this week's Let Get Sketchy! Hop on over to see the sketch and what else our fabulous team has cooked up for your inspiration.

This is one of my favorite photos of my son. It was taken at a time when he still let me take pictures although I had to do a lot of "directing" to not get such a weirdo shot.

I actually told him to put his hands together, look down and think about his favorite dream. It worked.

Without further ado, here it is.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

KBD: HI

Hi!!!

I'm here today for two reasons. The first is because it's my day to post for Kadoodle Bug Designs' blog. The second is to play along with PaperPlaySketches

You can find the file for the little girl goat here.

You know, I rarely give any tips. I usually more of a "here's the photo go knock yourself out" kind of crafter. I'm thinking that's going to change in 2016. I'm not going to bore you with step by step instructions, but more of general rules that I go by when making cards and die cuts.

Whose ready??!!

Tip #1: If I really want to make my cards "sing", I'll add a second "pop" feature. I don't want to take away from the die cut, but am very interested in making you pay attention to it.

For this card it was the ribbon. Otherwise, it's just a flat card with a cute goat on it. It can be bling, a bow, ribbon, flowers, etc. If you go thru my archive, which cards "sing" and which do not? Why?

Thanks for stopping by today!!!!
