ISBG: Oh so happy

Welcome to my blog! Today I would like to share my 4th project with you using the newest toolshed kit, 'Colorburst'. This kit is full of ephemera perfect for those masculine layouts you've been putting off . . . hint hint!!! My previous pages have been heavy on mixed media, so I went with a different style of layering and stitching lots of the die cuts that come in the kit.

The photo is of my son when we went fishing at Lake Deam several years ago.

I did used word stamps from my stash, as well as stitching and thread. But everything else is from the kit.

I liked making the layout look a little messy with loose thread here and there. I also like the "layered" stamp look achieved by mixing and matching small number and word stamps.

More stitching and layers!!

ISBG: Best Day Ever

Hello and welcome!! It's a new day and I'm here to show you my latest creation with International Scrapbook Garden's toolshed kit: 'Colorburst'.

If you haven't discovered this kit club already, OH MAN, stop now and go check it out.

My family and I took a business trip to Albuquerque, NM during Spring Break. On the way, we stopped at Amarillo, TX and Palo Duro Canyon State Park. My husband and son went zip lining over a small part of it, while I stayed firmly on the ground taking pictures.

I was greatly inspired by Karine Gagnon's work and her layout, 'Let Life Surprise You'. She makes process videos and I really appreciate that as I learn to navigate the world of mixed media.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

The embellishment bonus kit comes with thickers by American Crafts. I love that as AC products can be versatile and fun for many projects. The bonus kit also comes with some fun word phrases by 7 Dots Studio.

I layered chipboard and patterned paper provided in the bonus paper kit and bonus chipboard kit. The  layered circles I inked with 'Tin Can' ink provided in the main kit.

I used Paste-Eez 'Lava Flow' from ISBG 'The Spider's Web' mixed media kit. I did combine Lindy's sprays and magical shakers provided in the main kit and bonus mixed media kit. I added one color from my stash: Lindy's Starburst Spray: Ponderosa Pines Olive.

ISBG: You Color my World

Hello! Welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing with you a new layout using International Scrapbook Garden's toolshed kit called 'Colorburst'.

There are so many interpretations with this kit! Love every little detail in it. You can make a crazy color combo page, or even just a monochrome page and love the results either way.

With this page, I wanted to use every color provided in the main kit and mixed media bonus kit. We recently stopped by Cadillac Ranch on Route 66 in Texas. These cars are standing straight up, in a row, and are weirdly part of our modern American history. People not only stop by to visit, but to spray paint the cars as well. These cars are located on the flat plains so the wind is absolutely relentless and intense as well.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Aren't these flowers beautiful!?

I envisioned the background a certain way and ended up with a "hot mess". LOL! So I felt the need to add lots of embellishment to tone down the background. I did use leaf die cuts made with my Silhouette Cameo here.

The mixed media kit comes with Dazzlerz 'Pucker Up Pink', which is a shimmering dimensional paste. It's an incredibly strong and powerful color!!! I applied black gesso to the title and added two different embossing powders. Polka purple is part of the mixed media kit. Lindy's Desert Moon Copper Teal is from my stash.
Did you know that those long titles mean there is more than one color change in the powder? If you use black gesso/paint, you will get the secondary color instead.

Scrap the Boys: Splash

Hello and welcome!! It's a brand-new month and time for a new challenge at Scrap The Boys.

This month we are teaming up with Cocoa Vanilla, which unfortunately I
do not have any of their products in my stash. So I decided to go completely bright
and colorful.

'Summer Fun' is a cut file I purchased from the Silhouette online store. I also offset the
cut in the patterned pink to really make the frame pop.

I reached for several items from various places in my stash that seemed to all
have coordinating colors. The die cuts are from the Pebbles line.

I would consider this layout to be simple in design and execution. Some dots,
twine and die cuts and you have yourself a masterpiece!!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TODAY!
